The basic chords for this song are written over the top of the tab.
As always, there are different ways to intepret the song on guitar, so
some parts basically have two alternative lines of tab.
Try both and see which you like, or maybe try playing both together
with a friend.
Intro :
--------
A simple bass note + triad approach uses this riff for the Am7 :
Am7
E----------------------------------------------
B-------------7---8----------------7---8-------
G-------------7---9----------------7---9------- (Repeat twice)
D---7---------9---10------7--------9---10------
A------0--0------------------0--0--------------
E----------------------------------------------
For a slightly bigger sound, try this :

There are a few alternatives here for the chord shapes.
For the second chord in each bar you can play a maj7 instead of the
E/A type of chord (i.e you could play D/E Amaj7 C/D Gmaj7 ).
Or if you prefer the E/A type of sound, there are a couple of shapes
to try. Michael's tab has the chord moving up to a high position which
has a nice sound. The chord shapes at the end give an alternative lower
voicing for the E/A and D/G.
It might be interesting for two guitars to play the two versions of the E/A
and D/F chords - one high up, one lower down. Should give a really nice
full sound !

(this last bit in triplets is the horn riff)
Now it's verse 2 and chorus 2 - chords are the same, words are given above.
Instrumental break over verse and chorus chord sequences.
Then :
Middle 8 :
-----------
Play single chord 'chops' for the first three lines, then
on the 'shoes' line where it goes to Dm7 you can start the riff
idea again (same tab as for the verse).
Am7
I stand up on the platform
Fmaj7
The man gives me the news
Am7
He said "you must be joking son.
Am Am/B Am/C A/C# Dm7
Where did you get those shoes ?
Am7
Where did you get those shoes ?"
Chorus 3:
---------
Well I've seen 'em on the TV
The movie shows
They say the time are changing
But I just don't know
These things are gone forever
Over a long time ago
Oh yeah
Fade out over these chords :
